Prompt #2
JOURNAL
My object that I
brought to class is a journal. Whenever I think about journals, I can hear the
pencil or pen writing on the crisp pages of the journal. The journal is very
colorful to try to inspire me to think creative and to write more clearly and
to put my words into someone’s mind to have them vision what I am telling them.
I can smell the graphite after it dragged across the paper to make out the
words and story. When describing the graphite pulling across the paper, I can
almost taste the bitter, grainy and plain taste in my mouth as the words made
out. The reason why a journal has to do with writing or reading is that when I was
in elementary school, we had to write in journals for 15 minutes about anything
and everything in our lives. After we would write, we would have to read them aloud
to the whole class. This made me feel humiliated and ashamed of my life and how
boring I was, compared to my other classmates. The fear of reading the journal
aloud was terrifying. My hands were sweaty as if I was in a sauna for days. My stomach
tossed and turned like I were on a roller coaster that would never stop. Even
thinking about those days makes me sick to my stomach feeling as if I am that
little girl again. It makes me wonder, was I the only kid that felt this way every
time the teacher said, “Its journal time, starting write your thoughts, then
share them”. It just boggles my mind, even to this day I do not like reading
aloud or even doing speeches.
Prompt #3
ReplyDeleteIn-class writing response
Today, we watched the show "How i met your mother". Its a show that is really funny. All the actors, start a tradition. They watch star wars every 3 years. and right before they watch it they like to predict how there life is going to be and who there going to be with. This show is kind of perverted and is to bad for someone younger than 16 years old because it will put bad thoughts in there head, like everything is about a girl or guy or even having kids. Two of the cast members predicts that there going to be married and have kids, which is unrealistic because no one knows where there going to be in 3 years let alone and one hour or even the next day. My thoughts are that this show is funny but yet serious at the same time. It also shows that your life can change at any second, either for the good or for the bad. Its also a flash back of the cast members and telling how they met and one of the cast members is telling his child how he and his mother met. And there is how they for the title "How i met your mother".
“Smash”
ReplyDeleteBody #3
In the musical “Smash”, the last episode was called “Bombshell”, in it there are these two girls that are fighting over the same main part. Their names are Ivy and Karen; they both fight for the spot light and for the best role. When Ivy does not get the Marilyn Monroe part she is devastated, and turns to get revenge on Karen for getting the part. Ivy becomes childish about not getting the role of Marilyn, she thinks she is the best and that she is the only person that best fits the part, but in reality Karen fits it more to the director of the musical. But to everyone else they believe that Ivy has the looks, and talent for the part, until Karen proved herself to everyone on the stage the day of the musical. Ivy tried to prove herself too but it was too late and the show had gone on with Karen playing the lead role. Even though Karen did not fit the part as first she kept trying and she made herself into the lead role of Marilyn Monroe in the musical.
